Amy and John Pregulman co-founded Kavod in 2015, with the mission to help Holocaust Survivors in the U.S. live the remainder of their lives comfortably and with dignity. Amy has served as the Executive Director of the organization from the beginning, and continues to bring her vision, drive, energy, passion, and compassion to her agency and all the individuals they serve each and every day.

Since 2019, Amy has provided material support (ensuring Survivors have access to nutritional foods, emergency homecare, emergency home repairs, utilities, dental care, and more) together with emotional support. She has offered an empathetic ear since instating the first national hotline for Holocaust Survivors, and as she fielded calls from agencies across The Network as they joined the KAVOD SHEF family.

Amy is committed to the 100,000 Holocaust Survivors living in poverty, wherever they live. She helped launch and lead a national philanthropic and local practitioner partnership system that has filled more than 156,000 requests of Holocaust Survivors to date. Amy embodies courage and Jewish values in action, dedicating her life to ensuring that Survivors across the country receive the dignity, respect, and support they so rightfully deserve.

Amy has worked tirelessly to ensure that the needs of Survivors are understood and met as quickly as possible. Through the KAVOD SHEF framework, Amy has demonstrated that within the human services’ space, philanthropic dollars can be leveraged to unlock additional resources and align partners to direct greater support to communities across the United States.
